Sinopoli, Rudolph, Rudy & Bird, 82, formerly of Lyndhurst, died on Thursday February 3, 2011. Mr. Sinopoli was born in Newark, was a longtime resident of Lyndhurst, and lived this past year in Jackson, N.J.. Rudy was the Owner of Sinopolis Italian Bread Bakery of Lyndhurst for over 45 years and MaMa Marias Pizzeria, of Lyndhurst for 10 years. Rudy is survived by his loving daughters, Maryann Sinopoli, B. Janet Petti, and Donna Matay & her husband, Michael, his four dear grandchildren, Maria Grace Petti-Weber, Gerard Petti, Mike Matay, Jr., and Michelle Matay, by his great grandchildren, Nyasia L. Petti, Mikey Matay III, and Sarah E. Weber, and by his sisters, Marie Ratel and Dorothy Sciortino. He is predeceased by Margaret Sinopoli (nee Catucci) mother of his children, his brothers Jimmy and Dominick, his sisters Marjorie, Elizabeth (Betty) and Felicia Sinopoli. He was on the LHS football team and a 1947 graduate. In 2004 he became a member of the Kingsland AARP Chapter #4866 where he met Gov. McGreevey. He was a proud supporter of the Lyndhurst Patrolman Benevolent Association. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a friend of Father Dominick. He was the most caring person always lending a helping hand to everyone. Our favorite memories of him, are his stories of picking mushrooms with his dad, going to Yankee games, having a "gameplay" in LHS football team named "the bread play", giving Lyndhurst foot patrolmen hot coffee in the cold of the winter, going to his bakery shop and having his "just baked" hot Italian bread with lots of butter, our children playing the pinball machines after having a slice of pizza, his Sunday visits down south Jersey starting with fresh eggs from a farm for breakfast and reading the newspaper and finishing with him pitching baseballs to his grandchildren, going to Lyndhurst Pastry Shop with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren for cookies and Italian Ice, his beautiful operatic voice singing "Silent Night" every Christmas holiday with us, and the last year having him near which enabled us to spend more time with him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, on Friday February 11, 2011 at 9AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
