Checki, Helen (nee Scotti), 99, died on Sunday December 14, 2008. Mrs. Checki was born in New York City, moved to Hoboken, lived in Lyndhurst for 88 years before moving to Montclair in 2005. She was a Homemaker. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, the late James D. Checki, Sr. in 1974 and by her two children, the late Eileen Rago in 1992 and the late James D. Cecchi in 1995. She is survived by her loving son, Donald J. Cecchi of New York, NY, by her daughter in law, Lucille Cecchi, and her dear six grandchildren, Hilary Walsh, Mary Ellen Rago, Lesley E. Cecchi & her husband, Joel Rosen, James E. Cecchi & his wife, Claire, Edward T. Cecchi & his wife, Regan, and Andrea C. Cecchi and also by eight great grandchildren, Jillian, Abigail, Sara, and Caroline Calaceto, Marco Lattimore, Cella, Olive, and James M. Cecchi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday December 18, 2008 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart RC Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to: The LAMP for Haiti Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 39703, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
