Luglio, Joseph John Sr., 85, died Thursday January 1, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Luglio was born in Lyndhurst and was a life long resident. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received numerous commendations including a Bronze Star for injuries suffered in Anzio Africa and Europe. He worked as a Machinist for Benedix, Tetterboro for over 30 years, then for Sun Chemical, East Rutherford for 8 years when he retired in 1993. Joseph was a member of the Lyndhurst V.F.W, the DAV of Nutley and the Nutley Elks Lodge #1290 where he was Elk of the Year (1994-95) and also served as a Trustee. Mr. Luglio is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Lou (nee Parkey) Luglio of Lyndhurst, his loving children, Lois Diane Zelna of Belleville, Joanne Luglio Haberlin of West Paterson/Woodland Park, and Joseph J. Jr., of Wayne, six dear grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his brother and sisters, Anthony J. Luglio of Florida, Angelina Sturm of Lake Hiawatha, Anna Della Rovere of Riverdale and Mary Valeo of Lyndhurst. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday January 5, 2009 at 9AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes�s Children Hospital, Compassionate Care Hospice, 140 Littleton Road, Parsippany, or the Alzheimer�s Association.
