Obituary of Chester Wozniak

Wozniak, Chester 86, died on Sunday April 19, 2009. Mr. Wozniak was born in Jersey City, a resident of Lyndhurst for 47 years, before moving to Monroe Township where he resided for the past 6 1/2 years. In 1939, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a WWII Army Veteran (1942-1946) where he served in the Pacific Theatre in the Medical Corps. He worked for Moore McCormack Lines beginning in 1946 until his retirement in the 1980�s. He was a member of the International Longshoreman�s Association (ILA). He also was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3549 and REC, both of Lyndhurst. Chester enjoyed hiking and being outdoors. Mr. Wozniak is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anna (nee Szczesny), his loving sons, Michael & his wife Jody of Hackettstown, Richard & his wife Carol of Newtown, PA, Robert of Freehold, and his four dear grandchildren, John and his wife Katie, Andrea and her fianc� Jason, Brian and Stephan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday April 23, 2009 at 10AM then to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, where at 11AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Wednesday 3-7PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the REC of Lyndhurst, 250 Cleveland Avenue, Lyndhurst.
