Obituary of Francis L. Weinstein

Frank Weinstein, beloved husband of Suzanne Barbetta and devoted youngest son of the late James and Frances (Reilly) Weinstein, died at home on Tontine Avenue in Lyndhurst on Sunday, April 26th, after a nine-month long, courageously fought battle with lung cancer. With him at his final moments were Suzy and his brother, Mike. His brother, Jim, and his sisters, Ginna Frantz-Breslow and Tish, were with with him in his final hours, as were Suzy�s parents, Vinny and Marge Barbetta, who came from New Hampshire to offer support as Frank�s battle began losing ground. Three nieces and a nephew, Melissa, Kristin, Sara and Dave, had comforted him with their presence and love in his final days as had sisters-in-law, Kate and Linda, and brother-in-law, Jeff Breslow. In addition, Frank leaves to mourn his death Suzy�s sisters, Marilyn Barbetta and Eileen Cromie, his maternal aunts, Doris (Robert) Reed and Jeanne (James Arthur) Damgen, a paternal uncle, Benjamin, a host of cousins and countless friends. He is also survived by two nieces, Sara and Skyler Cromie, one grandniece, Lily Terry, and two grandnephews, Patrick Weinstein and Emmett Terry. Frank (Murph) Weinstein had a personality as large as his physical presence. His booming voice could, and did, fill a room; his laughter was contagious. His signature curly red hair may have been taken away from him in his battle against a very aggressive cancer, but its aura remained as he continued to entertain, argue, fabricate and tell improbable stories from his hospital bed. Frank had successfully operated a manufacturer�s representative business for many years. But his real passions � in addition to Suzy, of course � were scuba-diving, cruises, all-things Disney, and the Giants � not necessarily in that order. Frank was born in Pompton Plains and graduated from Wayne Hills High School and William Paterson College. He was a long-time resident of Lyndhurst.
