Obituary of John C. Van Der Voort

Van Der Voort, John C., 88, of East Rutherford, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  Mr. Van Der Voort was born and raised in Wood-Ridge and was a resident of East Rutherford for over 60 years.  He worked as a machinist for Cole Engineering in Fair Lawn for 51 years, retiring in 1998 and then worked as a school crossing guard in East Rutherford for 12 years, retiring in 2012.  John also proudly served in the National Guard for 11 years.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Marie C. Van Der Voort (nee Nazare) in 2005 and survived by their loving daughter, Phyllis Van Der Voort and by his very dear friend, Mary Fitzgerald-Lloyd.  He is also predeceased by his pet, Bailey. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road , Lyndhurst , NJ on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 - 8 PM .  All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 17 at 9 AM where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM .  Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
