Obituary of Annette K. Toomey

Toomey, Annette K. (nee Kennedy) 91, of Lyndhurst, died on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Mrs. Toomey was born and raised in Jersey City, lived over 30 years in North Bergen and has been a resident of Lyndhurst the past 30 years. Annette earned her Masters Degree in Guidance from New Jersey City University and was a top aide for the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs for over twenty five years, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church of Lyndhurst with their Choir and Rosary Society for many years as well as the Lyndhurst Senior Community Center. She succumbed to heart failure, an illness she had fought most of her life. She was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed by all. Annette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Toomey in 1987 and by her brother, Joseph X. Kennedy in 1990. She is survived by her loving children, Peg Toomey & her husband, Michael Cherry, Mary �Maire� Cowan & her husband, Joseph, Joseph D. Toomey and Annette P. Toomey and by her dear grandchildren, Catherine, Elizabeth & Christopher Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday February 9, 2012 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
