Obituary of Nora T. Gillen

Gillen, Nora T., 82, (nee Walsh) of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday July 24, 2018.  Nora was born and raised in Clooneylisanne, Killimer, County Clare, Ireland.  She came to Bayonne at 19, met and married James E. Gillen and lived in Jersey City for a short while and has been a resident of Lyndhurst since 1968. Nora always worked for her family, For over 30 years, she worked in the food commissary for the Meadowlands Racetrack, East Rutherford.  Nora is predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, James “Buddy” Gillen in 2017.  She is survived by her loving children, James E. Gillen, III & his wife, the late, Donna Gillen (July 2016), Noreen Witte & her husband, Thomas, Patricia Magee & her husband, Jim and John Gillen & his wife, Tracy, by her dear grandchildren, Shannon, Kelley and Katelyn Gillen, Nicole & Christopher Witte, Sarah & J.C. Magee and Jonathan Gillen, by her sisters, Bridget Thompson & her husband, Emmett of Secaucus, Sister John Margaret of Kentucky, Margaret Mulvey & her husband, Tony, by the late May and Norman King of England, the late Kathleen Reilly, the late Ann Keogh and  her brother, the late PJ Walsh.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marion Walsh and brother-in-laws, Aiden Reilly and PJ Keogh all of Ireland. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4-8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, July 28 at 9AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's New Jersey, 400 Morris Avenue Ste. 251, Denville , New Jersey 07834-1365 .
