Obituary of Diane R. Gareffa

Gareffa, Diane, R.(nee DiMeo), 75, died on Monday, July 15, 2019.  Mrs. Gareffa was born in East Orange, raised in Newark and lived in Fairfield for 38 years.  She lived in West Caldwell for the past four years.  She is predeceased by her sister and brother, Phyllis Francin and Anthony Di Meo.  Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert Gareffa, by her loving children, Anthony Gareffa & his wife, Jennifer and Jennifer Dragone & her husband, Stephen, by her cherished grandchildren, Giada, Sylvana and Vito Gareffa, Michael, Joseph,  Anthony Dragone and by her brothers, Philip and Michael Di Meo.

When Diane wasn’t out on the dance floor with her friends or listening to live bands, she could be found hanging out with her grandchildren or shopping for the latest trends.  She was a woman of God, and was not only giving of her time and talents, but always gave a compliment to someone; be it stranger or friend.  She loved crocheting, decorating, and the Jersey Shore.  Her smile was contagious, her carefree spirit was gravitating, and she will always be remembered as a glamorous fashionista.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at the Nazare Memorial Home Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4 to 8PM.  All will gather on Friday, July 19, 2019  at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936 for a 12:30PM Funeral Mass.  Entombment to follow, Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.
