Helen, I only recently discovered that you had passed. I was the little boy you lived next to in the 80s. Long after we moved I always remembered you. So many memories of you letting us into your yard to fetch toys that made it over, to swing on your swing, sit on the lawn while you and mom talked for hours in the summer. You looked after us so many times I think we all saw you as a bonus grandma. I can forever hear the sounds of you and Stanley entertaining guests in your yard, music playing. You hold such a special place in my mind and I am forever greatful for having known the warmth, friendship and kindness of you and your family. Rest well sweet lady and tell Stanley that "Ecki" says hello.

Helen was a lovely person and I was very lucky to have met her. She is now at peace with her husband and son doing her puzzles and word finder. Rest In Peace Helen

Helen always asked me why didn’t God take her, and my answer was that He didn’t need her. He has now called her home, to be free of pain, and to be with her husband Stanley and son Bobby as well as her parents and siblings. As I gaze at her kitchen window, I always think I see her looking back and she often did. We always told Helen she was part Italian since she made us delicious eggplant, as well as her signature Italian cookies and her native pierogis, galumpkis and kruschicki. Years ago during the summer, we would sit in her yard drinking wine coolers and laughing at our squirrel friend, Homer. Helen you are now at peace. You will be missed and always in our hearts.
