Obituary of Phyllis E. Salerno

Salerno, Phyllis (nee Frangipane), 90, died on Monday, August 17, 2020.  Mrs. Salerno was born and lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Saddle Brook where she was a homemaker for her family.  She was a recent resident of Brightview Independent Living in Paramus.  Phyllis loved to bake, knit, and do arts and crafts, but most of all, care for her family.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Sabino "Sonny" Joseph Salerno in 2017 and survived by their loving children, Janice Polizzi and her husband, Robert, Diane Papamarkos and her husband, Tony, and Mary Ann Peterson and her husband, John, by her cherished grandchildren, Michael Polizzi and Emily and Joseph Papamarkos, and by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 4 PM - 7 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, Phyllis' family requests donations be made in her memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation , 1384 Perrineville Road, Monroe Twp.
