Obituary of Doris Balatsos

Balatsos, Doris(nee Hall), 90, died on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  Mrs. Balatsos was born in Bound Brook, lived in Newark and has been a resident of Kearny since 1957.  Doris was a homemaker, but volunteered a great deal of time at West Hudson Hospital in Kearny and St. Barnabus Medical Center of Livingston for 37 years.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Leonidas Balatsos, by her loving children, Alexandra Zazanis & her husband, John and James Balatsos & his wife, Michele., also by her dear nieces and their families.  Doris  was affectionately know as "the mayor of the Lyndhurst Diner" and will be sorely missed by all who came to know her.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, NJ 07090 on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 beginning 10:30AM.  Funeral Service 11AM.  Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1100 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ 07090.
