Obituary of Sam Anthony Troncone
Troncone, Sam, 95, of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 19th, 2021. Sam was born and raised in Lyndhurst. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Artillery Division. Upon returning home, he was employed by Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 39 years.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Stella of 54 years, and his two sons, Anthony and Sammy. Sam is survived by his loving daughter Diane Mitchell and her husband Richard, and his daughter-in-law Valerie Troncone. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Anthony Troncone, Tracy Signa and her husband Joseph, Kelly Mitchell and her fiancee Jason, Dave Troncone and his wife Shay, and Lisa Troncone along with his great-grandchildren Sam, Addison, Jenna, and Jason. He will be missed by his sister and brothers Angelina Maher, John and Vincent Troncone, and his many nieces and nephews.
Sam enjoyed spending time at Shoprite and the Amvets. Those who knew him well loved his comical sense of humor. His talks of his childhood, the army, and his witty comments always entertained his family and friends. He will be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 4 to 7PM. All will gather on Wednesday, March 24th at 9:30AM and then to St. Michael's Church, Lyndhurst where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
