Gen (known in the family as Cioci Gienci) was a person who won the gratitude of at least a dozen relatives in Poland. Each of them experienced her goodness and many of them selfless help. From World War I, we only knew about each other from word of mouth, and thanks to Gienci and her siblings, Kaz and Virginia, we were able to see each other and learn the details. All thanks to the fact that Gienci knew the language of her ancestors, her grandmother Przyborowski was a particularly active teacher at the end of the 1930s. Times have changed so much that most of the young people in Poland already know English, and there is no one to pass on Polish to their peers in the USA.
Until the end of her life, she was interested in the whole family in Poland. She knew her joys and sorrows. She was remarkably faithful to her friendships, though less and less reciprocated over time.
We must wish each of us to meet such a devoted friend as Giencia on his life path - a kind person who understands all the complexities of life and is ready to help.
Without exaggeration, I will use the phrase - honor to her memory. She will live in our memories until the end of our days.
Wojciech Łukasik - the first cousin of Gienci from Warsaw

Doug, I'm so very sorry about your mom. I send my condolences to you - your mom was a very warm sweet woman. I pray you have many memories of happy times to carry you through the coming months. I remember coming the visits in Arlington or your dad's parents' home in Bricktown. All the birthdays and holidays. Hope you look back and smile on the good stuff.
