Obituary of John A. Anthony

Anthony, John A., 46, of Sussex, died on Friday, December 24, 2021.  Mr. Anthony was born in Jersey City and lived in Bayonne for over 20 years.  He lived in Lyndhurst for 17 years before moving to Sussex in 2017.  Anthony worked as a transportation router in the food supplier industry for 22 years.  He first worked for Sysco Foods in Jersey City, then Krasdale Foods in the Bronx, and most recently for Driscoll Foods in Wayne.  Other than his work, he loved music and was an excellent left handed guitarist.  John was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Kearney and by his grandparents.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Anita Anthony (nee Carbone), by their cherished daughters, Freya and Shyla Anthony, by his step-father, Mark Bevan, by his brother Eric Anthony, by his niece, Orianna Anthony, by his half-brothers, Jason and Kevin Lempfert and Richard and Vincent Anthony, by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and by his cat, Mr. Kittie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4 - 8 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 7:30 PM.  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, John's family requests donations be made in his memory to the Bayonne High School Band Foundation, Inc., In Care Of Christopher J. Mason, 667 Avenue A, Bayonne, NJ 07002.  John's family kindly requests that all in attendance at the funeral home please wear a mask.  A celebration of John's life will be held in the spring of 2022.  You may express your condolences to John's family by using our tribute wall.
