Obituary of Marie G. Schaal

Schaal, Marie G. (nee Botti), 91, died on Saturday, January 8, 2022.  Marie was born and raised in Hoboken and lived in Lyndhurst for most of her life.  Marie was a homemaker, who loved being around her family & friends, hosting many parties & holidays. Her main hobby was eating out - anywhere, anytime!  While her husband, Bob was a member of the  Lyndhurst Fire Department, Marie loved organizing and volunteering at many firehouse events.  The Fire department “family” was as an extension of Marie’s family, as it was for many of its members during those years. Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, C.Robert Schaal “Bob” in October 2015.  She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Spencer & husband William, Kevin R. Schaal & wife Jennifer, and Brian Schaal & wife Christine, by her 8 dear grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 3 to 7PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 9AM, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be celebrated.  Interment, Holy Name Cemetery, 328 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, Please use our tribute wall to express condolences to Marie’s family.
