Obituary of Miguel Reina
Reina, Miguel, 53, of Hawthorne, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 27, 2022. Mr. Reina was born in Jaruco, Cuba and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was 2 years old. They settled in Paterson, NJ where he lived for 26 years before he moved to Hawthorne to raise his own family. Miguel worked as a computer programmer for various companies, most recently DMW&H in Fairfield. Over the years, he developed a great passion for martial arts as he was a student for many years before proudly opening his own dojo, Bujinkan Bukeyashiki Dojo in April 2008. As part of his training, Miguel traveled to Japan twice to earn his kyu and ultimately his title of Shidoshi. Outside of work, he could be found as a regular patron at Venus Restaurant in Passaic or enjoying a cigar. Above all else, Miguel was a family man. He was a loving husband to Barbara and a proud father to Michaela and Michael. He pushed his children to be the best they can be. Miguel was very proud of Michaela for becoming the first Reina to earn a college degree and he loved visiting her during her college years in Maine. Miguel's pride grew even more when Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and upon his completion of bootcamp, will be the first Reina to join the United States Military. Miguel was predeceased by his devoted parents, Salvador and Eva (nee Pachecho) Reina and by his dear brother, Salvador Reina, Jr. and is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years this August, Barbara Reina (nee Crespo) and their loving children, Michaela Reina and her fiancé, John Ryan Stackhouse and Michael Reina and by his best friend who he always loved like a brother, Juan Borgono and his family.
