Obituary of Angela Freda

Angela Freda (nee Fernandez) passed away at her home on September 28, 2022 surrounded by love at 85 years old. Angela was born and raised in North Arlington, NJ. She is predeceased by her cherished parents Mary (nee DePasquale) and Nicholas Fernandez, her siblings Nicholas and Maryann, and her beloved husband Louis Salvatore Freda whom she fondly referred to as her, “one and only”.  Angela married Louis on 11/4/1954 at Queen of Peace Church which was built by her father. The rest of her life was spent in Lyndhurst where she raised her 2 sons and then devoted her time to her 2 granddaughters. Angela was loyal and loved unconditionally. Her family was her world. She took pride in caring for her loved ones and her home. Angela was never one to sit down. She was a warm hostess and would never let you leave her home with an empty stomach. Angela was a devout Catholic who volunteered for many years as a CCD teacher at her parish Mt. Carmel. She is survived by her devoted sons Louis Freda and his partner Michael Ucci and James Freda and his wife Kimberly; her two granddaughters Alicia “Precious” Matarazzo and her husband Anthony and Jackalyn “Happy Face” Brienza and her husband Joseph; her great grandchildren Alicia, Jamielynn, Joseph, Alina, Anthony, Jackson, & James; her siblings Carmine, Joseph, Thomas, Carol, Diane, Dolores, Eileen, & Lillian; many nieces and nephews and close family friends Charlie and Joseph.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 4 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, October 1 at 10 AM then to Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington where at 11 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Angela's memory to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or online by clicking here.  You may express your condolences to Angela's family by using our tribute wall.
