Obituary of Niki Pikoulis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Niki Pikoulis in the early morning of January 23, 2023. Niki was born on March 14th, 1943 to Giorgios and Sofia Vlachos in the village of Othos on the island of Karpathos, Greece. Having made a bold decision, at the age of 22, she immigrated to Rhodesia aka Zimbabwe, where she married Michael Pikoulis and had her two children. Then, in 1980 she immigrated with her family to the US, where she established herself as a Seamstress working many years and tireless hours to support her family in the small factories in Astoria, Queens NY.

As a dedicated and dynamic mother, her passion was taking care of the family by cooking, gardening, and sewing.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 21 years, Michael Pikoulis, she is survived by her loving sons, Nicholas Pikoulis and George Pikoulis & his wife, Fotini, by her dear grandchildren, Michael and Anna Pikoulis and her nieces and nephews, here in the States as well as in Greece.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 6 - 8 PM at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Valley Road, Clifton on Thursday, January 26, 2023, begins at 10 AM. Interment to follow, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst, NJ
