Obituary of Gerard D. Ghidella

Ghidella, Gerard D. "Jerry", 84, of Lyndhurst, died on Sunday, March, 26, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Ghidella was born and raised in Newark, lived in Kearny for 40 years and was a Lyndhurst resident for the past 21 years.  He worked for UPS in Secaucus for 32 years, retiring in 1991.  He was also a member of the Teamsters Local #177 as a Shop Steward for 25 years and owner/operator of Harrison Video for 18 years.   He is predeceased by his parents, Mario and Theodora Ghidella and daughter in law, Nancy Ghidella.  Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Helen M. (nee De Marzo) Ghidella, by his loving children, Gerard Ghidella & his wife, Catherine, Deborah Ann Erickson & her husband, Norman, Richard Ghidella and Jo Ann Kearns & her husband, Derek, by his dear grandchildren, Jennifer, Steven, Victoria, Anya, Michelle, Brian, Shawn, Katie, Kristen, Cassandra, Kelsie and Deirdre, by his great grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, Kai Lan, Mei Jing, Aubrey, Brielle, Madison, Landon, Eliza and Skyler and by his sister, Judy Koger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday, 30, 2023 from 4 - 8PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Friday, March 31st at 9 AM, then to St. Michael's R.C. Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Cremation private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerard's memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, PO BOx 1000, Dept 142,   Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
