Obituary of Anita Louise Carbone
Carbone, Anita Louise (nee Lotito), 70, a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, died on Friday, April 21, 2023. Anita peacefully transitioned to the afterlife in her home surrounded by her family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Eleanor (nee Episcopia) and Michael J. Lotito Sr., by her brother, Anthony Lotito, as well as her son-in-law, John Anthony. Anita is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Carl V. Carbone Jr., her children, Carl M. and his wife Ellen, Michael C. and his wife Danielle, Anita Louise Anthony, and Maria Anita, and her seven granddaughters whom she loved more than anything, Fiona, Ivy, Bella, Kiana, Keira, Freya, and Shyla, her sister Elizabeth Valentine, and her brother Michael J. Lotito Jr. She is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Anita joined the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad in September 1988 as a volunteer EMT and became a lifetime member in 2009. She also served as Deputy Commissioner from 2003 to 2009. She became a daytime LEMS in December 2000 and later an LPD Dispatcher in December 2006, retiring in March of 2016. Anita also was a regional operating manager for at home distribution of the Bergen Record newspaper and served as a den mother with the Cub Scouts. Anita was an immensely talented and skilled calligrapher. She loved puzzles and games and was an avid collector of porcelain dolls. Those who knew her also knew of her love of music, especially Ozzy and her unique goth style.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 2 - 8 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anita's memory to a charity of your choice. You may express condolences to Anita's family by using our tribute wall.
