Obituary of Rose Mary Cardillo
Cardillo, Rose Mary, 96, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Rose Mary was born in Newark, lived in Irvington for 5 years, and the rest of her life in Lyndhurst. She worked in Management at AT&T, (formerly New Jersey Bell) for 44 years, retiring in 1987. In her earlier years, she was the past president of the Telephone Pioneers, an active member of Mount Carmel Church as a eucharistic minister, a member of the Rosary Society and Mount Carmel Seniors. Rose Mary loved to volunteer, especially at Boys and Girls club of Newark. She loved Italian Food and had a passion for NYC Broadway and the NYC skyline. Most of all, Rose Mary loved to travel, especially to Aruba and dine and dance. She is predeceased by her parents, Pasquale & Maria (nee Brusco) Cardillo, and by her siblings, Joseph, Gerard and Felix Cardillo, Dolores Varga, by her brother-in-law, Jules Varga, and nephews, Dr. Edward Quigley, Dr. Herbert Quigley, and Philip Cardillo. She is also predeceased by her longtime friend, Peggy Brennan and her gentleman friend Fred Martin. She is survived by her Sister, Anna Quigley, her nieces and nephews and their families, Joanne Hess, Rosemarie Roscoe (Jack), Michael Cardillo (Sally) and Gerard Cardillo. She is also survived by 13 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephew, by her cousin, Lucy Baratta and niece-in-law, Lois Quigley, and many friends..
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc.403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday June 1, 2023 from 5 – 7 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Friday, June 2, 2023at 10 AM, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where at 11 AM, a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery. North Arlington. You may express condolences by using our tribute wall.
