My deepest sympathy to all of Sammy’s family. Sammy and Rose Marie were my godparents and a lifelong friend of my dad. I will fondly remember my telephone conversations with Sammy reminiscing about the old days in Brooklyn and, especially, the Feast of Saint Joseph celebrations at my aunt’s house.
Rest in peace Sammy.

I worked with Sal while at NYPA. Sal was a key contributor on many power plant projects - fossil, nuclear and hydro. He also did important work on electrical transmission tower systems, substations and much, much more! Although his engineering talents were unique, it was his friendship that made him loved by many. I am sure God will be asking him in heaven for some help with his projects. He will truly be missed, may he rest in peace. Angelo Miele

My deepest condolences to all of you on the passing of your Father, Sam. My Dad loved both of your parents and every time I picked him up from St. Michael's, he was always chatting with them. They had been friends for 60 plus years. What a wonderful legacy he has left behind. God Bless him on a long and wonderfully lived life.
In sympathy,
Brian Haggerty

Uncle Sam was a numismatist as most people know. His love of coins was contagious. He and I used to talk about old coins, and I enjoyed listening to his stories about his collection. We would joke about hoping to find a valuable , rare, wheat penny . Whenever he saw me, he would ask, "Did you find it yet?"
When my mother died, he gave me a 1986 Silver Liberty one dollar coin in a felt case . I was so touched by his thoughtfulness and generosity.

I will always remember Uncle Sam for his keen interest in me and my family. He had an incredible memory and would always pull me aside and talk about things from my past. Those discussions reminded me of the strength of family ties.
All families experience the phenomenon of Dad Jokes. Well, the legend of Uncle Sam Jokes will live forever as the G.O.A.T. Dad Jokes!
I love you, Uncle Sam.
Your Nephew,
Robert
