Obituary of Vincenzo Monteleone

Monteleone, Vincenzo, 92, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024.  Mr. Monteleone was born in Calabria, Italy, and in 1958 came to the United States, settling in Jersey City, where he and his wife lived until 2009, living in Lyndhurst for the past 15 years.  Vincenzo started out working in construction for the Union then as carpenter mason for Jersey City Public Works for 30 years retiring in 2008. Vincenzo loved his scratch-off tickets, gardening, and his fig tree and was a big fan of WWE Wrestling and mostly being with his family down the Jersey Shore. To all he was "Poppy" especially to his granddaughter, Gabriella.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Assunta (nee Pelle) in 2010.  He is survived by his loving children, Theresa Lombardozzi & her husband, Vincent, and Helen Monteleone and his grandaughter, Gabriella Raimondo & her husband, Joseph.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home. Inc. 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 4 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15th at  8:30AM, then to Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington where at 9:45 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment to follow, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.    You may express your condolences to Vincenzo's family by using our tribute wall.
