I met Phyllis in 1973, introduced by Eddie. We hit it off immediately and became the best of friends. We confided in each other numerous times. I will never tell, Phyllis!
Every single time we spoke, we laughed so hard, we brought tears to our eyes. My husband, Jim always knew by my laughter I was speaking to Phyllis. The very last time we spoke, she told me she didn’t have long to live. I didn’t know how to react. Although she was so ill, she asked how Jim was feeling and the rest of my family. Upon hanging up, I cried my eyes out. I can’t imagine my life without my very dear friend. There is an emptiness in my heart that will never heal. Whenever we said goodbye, we always expressed our love to each other.
I will forever miss her Irish humor, numerous funny quotes from her and her family, which always left me hysterical.
Rest in peace, dear sweet, loving friend and remember you will always be Jim’s Dublin Dandy!
Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family!
Connie & Jim Connor

I only met and had the honor to spend a short time with Philomena she had an impact on me with her warmth her caring and the love she showed. I know that she was a wonderful human being it shows on her daughter my neighbor Erin who is loving and caring I know she inherited that from her mother and father. I pray that she is resting in good place in heaven and hope to see her again. Love Jacqueline

So sorry for your loss of a wonderful mother, loving sister and beautiful friend! I will always remember Phyllis as a warm, and welcoming woman, who made special efforts to make everyone feel at home.
When I moved to Ridgefield Park and my son started first grade at St. Francis School, I attended my first Mother's Guild meeting not knowing a single person. Well, Phyllis quickly put me at ease and invited me to sit with her and her friends. From that moment on, we shared many special memories. Six years later my daughter, Amanda, started kindergarten with Phyllis' lovely daughter, Erin, which set the stage for more fond memories, joyous events and may laughs.
Phyllis was a special, caring and nurturing person, who stepped up to watch my children, when my baby-sitter was ill. She welcomed my children into her home each day and treated them with warmth and protection.
Most of all, Phyllis cared for her own family with steadfast affection and determination! Her deep love for her family was evident in her every word and action. Eddie, Sean, Elizabeth and Erin, you should all know how loved and admired she was and how cherished she will always be!

Deeply saddened to learn of Phyllis passing. She and Ed were more than just friends of the family. To us, they were a cherished part of our lives for so many years. One of many fond memories I have was a long time ago, when and friend and I decided to ride our bicycles from Bergenfield to Ridgefield Park (in our youth, not realizing how long a trip this would be through traffic) to surprise Phyllis. The story would come up again sometimes for a laugh.
Phyllis will always hold a special place in our hearts.

What can I say about this amazing woman my cousin.Phylis was a true Dub although left for America decades ago there wasn't a prouder Dub on this planet. She kept her wicked sense of humor and always made you laugh She was an amazing mother grandmother and valued family member.I was lucky enough to have traveled with my kids to NY in October so my kids could get to meet her again after a few years. She was ill but just like she was she put on a brave face and laughed and made my kids feel like they were her own.To say we are all devastated at loosing her is an understatement but she will forever love in our hearts. The world is a emptier place without her wit her laugh and her hugs .RIP cuz and bring your humour up to heaven where all the Reilys are waiting to have a good old fashioned knees up with you once more .
Love always
