Obituary of Lawrence P. Sparta

Sparta, Lawrence "Larry" P., died on Monday, March 25, 2013. Mr. Sparta was born in and a life long resident of Lyndhurst. As a W.W.II Navy Veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946, Larry received the Distinguished Service Medal in 2001 for his submarine service. He was a Group Supervisor in Metering Operations for PSE & G for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of The AmVets Post 20 and The American Legion Post 139, both of Lyndhurst as well as a member of The USS Ling Submarine of NJ Naval Museum. Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife, Genevieve "Jean" (nee Dubanowicz) Sparta, by his loving sons, Larry Sparta & his wife, Mary Beth, Dennis Sparta & his wife, Maureen and Joseph & his wife, Jane, by his dear grandchildren, Dennis Sparta, Kristin & Eric Dimeck, Timothy & Vanessa Sparta, and Laurie Sparta, by his brother, William Sparta and his sister, Marie Genchi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 9:30AM then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10:30AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
