Obituary of Mafalda Bludgus

Bludgus, Mafalda "Maddie" (nee Natelli), 93, of Jackson, NJ, died on Saturday, June 24, 2023.  Mrs. Bludgus was born and raised in Jersey City, lived in Bayonne for 30 years, and was a resident of Jackson since 2016.  She helped raise her family as a homemaker before starting to work as a secretary at St. Peter's College in Jersey City in 1984, where she worked for close to 20 years.  While at St. Peter's College, she also counseled new students beginning their college careers.  Maddie was a devoted Christian and was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church in the Greenville section of Jersey City.  Mafalda taught CCD classes, loved to dance, was an excellent cook of Italian food, and was active in Scouts as a den mother. She also volunteered for USO during WWII.  Mafalda was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Bludgus in 1977 and is survived by their loving children, Robert Bludgus and his wife, Dee, Michael Bludgus and his wife, Kathy, Barbara Stricker and her husband, Jon, and Richard Bludgus and his wife, Annette, by her cherished grandchildren, James Stricker and his wife, Melissa, Robyn Leap and her husband, Brian, Billy Bludgus and his wife, Kelsey, David Stricker and his wife, Rhein, the late Justin Bludgus, Christopher Bludgus and his wife, Natasha, and Caitlin, Richard, and Rebecca Bludgus, by her dear great grandchildren, Nykole, Taylor, Kennedy, Grey, Caden, John, and Cara, and by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 11 AM - 12:45 PM.  A funeral mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst at 1 PM.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online by clicking here. You may express your condolences to Mafalda's family by using our tribute wall.
